Scotland: Monuments

Scotland is a country with beautiful monuments. These are a few:
-Edinburgh Castle: This castle is the most emblematic of the city. It's on a hill in thecentre of the Scotland's capital and was builtin in the XI century. The hill was recognised as meeting point for village's people.
-Royal Mile in Edimburgh's medieval city: This is an union of some streets of the Edimburgh's old city. This street going from the castle to Holyrood House's palace.
-William Wallace statue: This statue is in Stirling. It was built in honor of the Scotland's hero - William Wallace.
-Kilchurn Castle: It was built in the XIV century. It's on the banks of Loch Are, in the southeast of the Scotland's Highlands. After the castle was burnt caused by a lightning, it was abandoned.
-Monument for Walter Scott: This monument was built between 1840 and 1846. It's Gothic and it has 287 stairs, but there are good views.
-Stirling Bridge: This bridge was built about the XVI century, but it was rebuilt a few meters back.
-Saltmarket: This place is a square of Glasgow. Here, there was a salt market where was sold salt for the rest of United Kingdom.
-George Buchanan column: This monument is in the centre of Killearn, at the beginning of High Street. It was built in 1788, paid for the money of the people.
-Dunnotar's Castle: A ruined castle on top of a cliff next the sea.
