Demography
The population of Scotland in the 2001 Census was 5,062,011. This has risen to 5,168,500 according to June 2008 estimates. This would make Scotland the 112th largest country by population if it were a sovereign state. Although Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland it is not the largest city. With a population of just over 584,000, this honour falls to Glasgow. The Greater Glasgow conurbation, with a population of almost 1.2 million, is home to nearly a quarter of Scotland's population.
Education
The Scottish education system has always remained distinct from education in the rest of United Kingdom, with a characteristic emphasis on a broad education. Scotland was the first country since Sparta in classical Greece to implement a system of general public education.Schooling was made obligatory for the first time in Scotland with the Education Act of 1496, then, in 1561, the Church of Scotland set out a national programme for spiritual reform, including a school in every parish. Education continued to be a matter for the church rather than the state until the Education Act (1872).
Religion
Just over two-thirds (67%) of the Scottish population reported having a religion in 2001 with Christianity representing all but 2% of these.28% of the population reported having no religious adherence.
Culture
Scottish music is a significant aspect of the nation's culture, with both traditional and modern influences. A famous traditional Scottish instrument is the Great Highland Bagpipe, a wind instrument consisting of three drones and a melody pipe (called the chanter), which are fed continuously by a reservoir of air in a bag. Bagpipe bands, featuring bagpipes and various types of drums, and showcasing Scottish music styles while creating new ones, have spread throughout the world. The clàrsach (harp), fiddle(country violin) and accordion are also traditional Scottish instruments, the latter two heavily featured in Scottish country dance bands. Today, there are many successful Scottish bands and individual artists in varying styles.
In literature the author J.K. Rowling has become one of the most popular authors in the world (and one of the wealthiest) through her Harry Potter series, which she began writing from a coffee-shop in Edinburgh.
The Loch Ness Monster is a cryptid that is reputed to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. The most frequent speculation is that the creature represents a line of long-surviving plesiosaursPopular interest and belief in the animal has fluctuated since it was brought to the world's attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with minimal and much-disputed photographic material and sonar readings. The scientific community regards the Loch Ness Monster as a modern-day myth, and explains sightings as a mix of liars and wishful thinking. Despite this, it remains one of the most famous examples of cryptozoology. The legendary monster has been affectionately referred to by the nickname Nessie (Scottish Gaelic:Niseag) since the 1950s.
The Loch Ness Monster is well known throughout Scotland and the rest of the world and has entered into popular culture.

Their house and vacuum cleaner
Their house... It's wonderful. From the ouside, it looks small, but from the inside it's enormous. It reminds me to the Doraemon's pocket, no just for the size. Their house have stranges devices, which are always misused or malfunctioning and it have a result, for example, of a bath of cookies.
Now is time to talk about his vacuum cleaner, a stupid item that does nothing more that spin from one place to another place making an horrible noise that is unbearable (srwip, srwip) each time that it appears. And... How not? It's another invention of those stranges creatures, so the poor vacuum cleaner has two eyes (for what? It can't see...) that hang by springs and fall all the time. Also, the vacuum cleaner have one of his connectors to simulate that it has hair. And finally, after torment to vacuum cleaner putting to it stupid and useless accessories, the teletubbies treat to the poor vacuum cleaner how if it were a dog.

Teletubbies
They are these weird characters which we won´t never know what´s their sex.
They live in a kind of Wonderland where there are fool things like rabbits that never died, a sun with a baby´s head who is always smiling and a vacun cleaner.
They have a house in the middle of a mountain where there are some speakers which say them what they must do, and they aren´t too clever and obey it.
All of them have a TV, but isn´t a HD TV, and play a boring video twice. Their belly shine when their TV is on, so they seem Terminator.
They have a very big and stranger antennas on their head but it doesn´t work properly because their TV has a very bad quality.
